Children of Nova is an American experimental rock band from San Diego, California, formed in the Summer of 2007.



Members of the group had been in several previous bands including Atlas of Id and Temperature Delete. Once formed they
immediately started writing and began to share their music at open mic nights and house parties. They quickly released a
rough three song Ep and started to play many venues in the area including the House of Blues, SOMA, The Epicenter, Radio
Room (aka Zombie Lounge), U-31, 710 Beach Club, etc. During the summer of 2008 they decided to get in a van and tour up
the West Coast.



They played several cities all the way up to Seattle and back down. They also played shows in Arizona, Nevada, and
Mexico. After an extensive year of touring, the band entered the studio to record their first album. They decided to
record with Brian Grider (Lower Definition, Fight Fair, The Material) at SCM Recordings. The album would get to show the
bands experimentation in terms of their writing process and opening up to a range of instrumentation.



Their album, The Complexity of Light, was released March 26, 2009. It stands as a groundbreaking record with a grand
artistic scope. The albums concept uncovers a science fiction story about two characters; Nova, the defender of light,
and Corbin, the defender of darkness. Both of whom are tested to become the leader of planet Arcaedion.



The epic saga shows their artistic vision in unique fashion. Concept aside, the music talent is undeniable. Marked by
intricate arrangements the disc displays the bands wide chemistry in every track. It reflects both the diverse
backgrounds and common bonds of this intricate musicianship.



The band’s release of The Complexity of Light began to receive immediate attention in the music world. Whether it
was the hooky melodic sections (Arcaedion) or the bountiful rhythmic changes (Fall of Aphonia), the bands popularity
grew stronger. Fans across the world have downloaded the album on itunes and have frequented their web page.



They released their first single “Arcaedion” to local radio stations and were soon thereafter named THE
LOCAL 94/9 Recommended pick of the month as well as being asked to perform on X1FM’s Open Door Sessions. The show
was broadcasted on the internet and was received warmly by fans across the globe. While the radio continues to show
support of their latest creation, they are ready to embark on a country wide tour to support The Complexity of Light
album. Recently they were tapped to open for Rx Bandits and Dredg in their hometown of San Diego, along with being
nominated for two San Diego Music Awards: Best Hard Rock Group and Best Hard Rock Album. It is clear the future of
Children of Nova is looking bright. If you are looking for a sonic experience that will knock you off your feet, you
